Frank Espinoza, the owner, attended ART, the Academy of
Realistic Taxidermy, one of the best taxidermy schools
in the country. All instructors at ART compete at the highest level,
winning numerous awards for their artistry at Nationals
and World competitions. Frank studied fish taxidermy
with Steve Faechner, owner and operator of the ART school.
Frank continues his fish taxidermy education
with five-time world champion fish taxidermist, Mike Ross.
He studied upland and waterfowl birds from Joe Kaiser,
a member of the National Taxidermists Association
board of Directors. Frank also studied with Clay Wagner,
an expert of shoulder mounts at the school, who is sought out by many for his African game mounts. Frank learned about life-size mammals from Danny Owens, who also has an exceptional
line of bird forms available at Van Dykes Supply.

Frank participated in the 2007 Colorado
Taxidermy Associations’ state competition.

As avid hunters, Animal Illusions appreciates the time and effort
involved in taking a trophy animal. In the outdoors, it can be
very difficult at times to care for our game,
so we also provide field care notes.
